2014 marks 100 years since the beginning of World War I, which claimed over 17 million lives in only four years. We promoted n-tv's three-part documentary, "World War I", with a mailing that made the terrible war come to life again: because its senders were the fallen soldiers themselves. Therefore, we bought hundreds of original letters and postcards by front-line soldiers, packed them in original field mail envelopes, added custom-made stamps, and sent them to opinion leaders, journalists and history buffs across Germany - making our mailing a landmark of remembrance for one of the worst catastrophes of all time.
